I have naturally dark brunette hair. Last year I highlighted it some caramel colors and such. I didn't go to drastic, but I did lighten it. Now, I have about 2 inches of regrowth and I dont like the look at all, and I have split ends from dying it. How do I do back to my natural color to make my hair healthy again?

If you don't want to have roots then you can find a semi permanent dye that matches your natural colour. When your hair starts growing in the roots won't be as noticeable because the dye will be fading at the same time.

In the meantime, keep your ends trimmed to keep your hair healthy and while its growing out do a deep conditioning treatment each week to keep it soft.
