Need Professional Hair Help? (Ethnic Hair)?

I am bi-racial (black and white) and I have VERY VERY curly, frizzy hair.

My hair used to be VERY healthy and long and straight when I would get it relaxed and flat iron it, but about a year ago I went to this salon to get it relaxed again, and the lady screwed up my hair big time. Around my hairline, at the most there is 3 inches of hair now, and the rest of my hair has breakage but not as bad, the rest is about shoulder length now.

I have stopped relaxing my hair until it grows back and I found a good stylist now, that really knows what she is doing.

But my question is, how can I get my hair healthy again? I still flat iron it, with a great iron, and I moisturize it a lot. What are some good products for women of color to use? And are extensions a good idea? Is my hair even long enough for them? How about microbraids?

Black hair is so hard to care for because it is so fragile contrary to what some believe. You have to build and strengthen your hair from the inside out. And that means having a good diet that includes protein and amino acids. Invest in a good multi-vitamin that will help your overall health. Also you should invest in a good conditioner. I deep conditioner my hair every time I wash it. I sit under a dryer or simply put on a shower cap with the conditioner still in my hair for about 30 mins. That help to seal in the moisture. Also while trying to grow your hair back try keeping it up and relax on so using so many heating products. I only wear my hair down on really special occasions. For the most time I'm rocking nice updos, so I don't break my hair off. Stay away from braids because they put unnecessary stress to your hair, and most people braid entirely too tight. Which will cause your hair on the sides to fall out. Good luck and don't worry if you follow my advice your hair will be swinging around your shoulders in no time. P.S. Also keep your hair tied up at night with a silk scarf or hankie, and massage your scalp daily.

My cousin had the same thing happen.

But she's full black...anyways,

She kept her hair braided so it would grow back

Faster i guess...she always was putting pink oil in her hair.

After awhile i dnt remeber how long her hair was longer,

And shiny..

Try braids and pink oil :)

just keep doing what your doing now because you are off to a good start. wash and condition twice a week and apply some of the Doo Grow Products because I know alot ppl it has a worked for and most swear by it. Dont flat iron it as much until you are sure its working. Braids so tiny wont help it because it tends to brake off the hair. Also another shampoo you could use is Pantene. It softens and has plenty of vitamins in it. Make sure you have a good diet and drink plenty of water. Pink Moisturizer is another good moisturizer also.

But try to follow this twice a week or more:

1. Wash hair with above shampoos

2. Then moisturize with pantene and pink moisturizer

3. Hot oil treatment for deep penatration

4. Take Biotin (hair vitamin)

5. When straightening use ceramic iron because its better for your hair

6. Trim split ends so it can grow healthy

Good look to long and healthy hair!!!
