Hi,

I am boy. I straighten my hair everyday. I've heard that the heat from the ceramic straightener is bad for the hair and so I shouldnt do it. My hair are very dry and rough and curly, thats why I striaghten them. But if I continue to striaghten them, even if they go bad, cant I just shave my head and healthy new hair will grow?

it's not good to straigten your hair everyday, but it's also not good to put anything in your hair everyday, lol. i agree with you and it's not a big deal. i straighten my hair with a ceramic iron like 2-3 times a week and i'm good!

Try using thermasilk or any heat activated hair products. The vitamin Lecithin has done wonders for my hair. If you shave your head %26amp; are still doing the wrong things to your hair its just gonna be unhealthy again. The lecithin took about 3 months to work but its really good. no! don't shave ur head! i luv guys with ur type of hair.

you can simply just get it trimmed and don't straighten it everyday because it will damage ur hair. don't worry if its rough and curly because i bet you will also look cute with curly hair and for the roughness, try a different shampoo. :)

what you should do is get a straigtener shampoo. even if its a girls shampoo so what. my best friend has really curly hair and she uses herbal essences. it the straight kind. it will help keep it straight. and you can also get a spray from vo5. it is a red bottle and you spray it on your hair before you go to straigten it. it protects your hair from heat and blowdrying. i hope this helps :)

You shouldn't have to shave your head. You could get a short cut to take off most of the damage and still leave your head with some hair on it. Try using a straightening lotion in the future to help work with the ceramic straightener. Keep in mind that it's not meant to fry your hair, if you are damaging your hair I think you may be holding the iron on it for too long of a time. I think your ethnicity may take a part in it as well. Caucasian hair and Afro-American hair are to be treated differently because of the texture of the hair.

You dont need to shave your head! just go to a beauty store like Ulta and buy a moisturizing leave in conditioner and use until your hair is soft and healthy. Dont buy super cheap stuff bc it wont work as well.

Then once your hair is back to normal then use an in shower conditioner everyday! and some days take a break from the straightener

If you until to you the straightener it will dry it out, but trying yourself a hot oil treatment and then use a therm spray to protect you hair why use the ceramic straightener. I hope this help some.

There are some really good products that you can by to protect the cuticle. It's wise to purchase these. Some seem costly at first but they are so nice and protect the moisture in the hair. Another point is to make sure your hair isn't completely dry when using a flat iron. This adds moisture to the hair when using the iron.
