Hair Products, And Styling?

For the past year and a half I have been growing my hair out. Recently I have been looking for shampoo and conditioner for my hair. I have fairly long thick hair. Its healthy and I have not dyed it. What is some good shampoo and conditioner to try, that will keep my hair healthy and shiny? How often should I apply conditioner? When I straightnen my hair, is it best to part my hair first or after?

Hello,

I am a professional in the cosmetology industry for the past many years ... specializing in color corection, repair, and restoration. I have tried most of the products as they came into the public arena...to date the best line of products out there is; "LOMA" look it up on line to find out where you can make a purchace in your area.

LOMA is a hair repair 'system' which is where most of the top companies are focused today. There is a moisturizing shampoo, leave-in moisturizer (that can be massaged into the scalp if your scalp tends to be dry) as well as a leave-in reconstructor (protein for strength). You will need all three ... but most importantly the moisturizer and the conditioner (simplicity, expect, and intensity) are to be left in the hair do not rinse regardless of what anyone you have been told before you recieve this answer.

When you are to ready to shampoo you will begin by rinsing your hair until it is completely soaking wet throughout...

next you will apply a small amount of the shampoo in your palm and rub your hands together

next you will apply it to your hair and then be ready for tons of lather ... apply to the front, top, both sides, and the nape area... prior to starting your shampooing manipulations ... give your head a good scrub conce trating on the thickest areas ... rinse well ... then repeat.

apply the white moisturizer comb through then apply the pink reconstructor comb though... dry and style.

remember these products are highly concentrated and you do not want to use too much. For optimum hair health this is the regimine for you ... wish they were around twenty years ago.

Pantine pro v, its the best, honestly.

when i straighten my hair, i do it in sections, and when i get to the top layer, then i do a part, so i guess... after! good luck!

Shampoo/ Conditioner-- Paul Mitchell Super Strong

I would condition everytime you wash it --if your using the super strong it wont take a whole lot of conditioner its pretty concentrated. Its on sale pretty often to if u watch you can find packs of 2 liter bottles ( one cond /one shampoo) for like $25

I would part it first that way your not tempted to keep going over the hair with the flat iron numerous times.... prevent as much damage as you can.

Avoid excessive blow drying and air dry hair whenever possible. This will help prevent split ends and drying.

Eating a well-balanced diet will ensure healthy, shiny hair.

Hair is most fragile when it's wet, so blot it dry and don't brush it. Use a wide-toothed comb and gently pull through from the bottom, up. Better yet, finger-comb it for a fluffy style.

Use only mousses and hair gels without alcohol to avoid a drying affect.

Use shampoo that is PH balanced and designed for your hair type.

Use a clarifying shampoo when you need to remove hair spray and gel build up.

Switch shampoo brands often to prevent product build-up.

Don't use hot water when shampooing or rinsing your hair.

For static electricity in the Winter, try running a fabric softener sheet through your hair for better control.

Don't believe that theory about brushing your hair 100 strokes every day. That will only cause damage and split ends.

Don't wash your hair every day if it's dry because shampoo and heat appliances will make it brittle. Who's going to know?

Use a cool setting on your blow dryer. This will take longer, but it will make your hair more shiny and manageable.

If your hair is oily and you don't have time for a wash, rub a dab of baby powder through it. This works better for blonde hair.

After swimming, wash your hair as soon as possible to remove chlorine residue.

Beer and Mayonnaise will condition your hair in a pinch.

For extra absorption, try conditioning your hair when it's dry. Leave on for several minutes, rinse. Shampoo and condition as usual.

Care for your hair as you do your skin. Healthy hair is much more attractive than dull, lifeless hair.

Dove, Redken and Biolage all work great.

Dove intense moisture and Dove sheer shampoo and conditioner is what I use most and I my hair color is natural and have had many people to say my hair is like silk.
