What are some good, easy-to-use hair products?

I've never been very knowledgable when it comes to beauty products. I am, however, envious of all those girls with that shiny, healthy-looking hair that I can never seem to achieve. My hair is straight, boring, never smooth...in fact, it's never anything I want it to be. Does anyone know any good hair hair products (that aren't the high-maintenance type) that will make my hair smoother and silkier?

You can do some hair treatment once a week at home, it's basically like a conditioner, but it's a deep one and it replenishes nutrients, adds shine to hair. You can put the treatment on your cleansed hair, and let it sit for a couple hours (you can tie your hair up and do something else during the time), then you can wash it off, after a few weeks, you can see the difference Here are some treatments I have been using and my comments: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio...

P.S. if you are just starting out and not want anything expensive, Aussie 3-minute is quite a good choice!

You could use a hair straightener just to make it smooth and silky.. and use a protective spray b4 u use it so u dont damage ur hair.. itll make it smooth

one thing that worked for me is L'Oreal mousse after you shower. Also try to use a different shampoo...sometimes your hair looks healthier and better with one kind of shampoo and not the other.

to make hair smoother and silkier a must-have is a good hair conditioner. you muist never skip conditioner if you want smooth hair. you can also apply leave-on conditioner after washing your hair. also do hair treatment or hair mask for softening and conditioning your hair weekly. it will really help. if all else fails, go to the professional for hair treatment.

When I was very young, in the 60's, my older sister was really into making her hair shiny %26amp; healthy but we never had any money. She read in a Reader's Digest column about the Benefits of Mayonnaise as a terrific %26amp; cheap hair conditioner that would leave your hair shiny %26amp; thick. My sister swore by this as a cheap %26amp; wonderful product to use and always had super gorgeous hair. Here's how she explained that it needed to be used:

*Slightly warm up a tablespoon full of mayonnaise (NOT SALAD DRESSING) n a small pan (or, microwave in a microwaveable cup )

* Pour it into your hands and even it up in both hands

*Rub it into your dry hair

*Comb it through your hair evenly

*Leave it in your hair for a few hours (enclose your hair in a plastic bag that's tight for extra conditioning)

*Wash out with your usual shampoo

You should notice a shiny difference. ONLY DO THIS WITH YOUR HAIR 1-2x PER MONTH MAXIMUM %26amp; REMEMBER TO FULLY RINSE THE MAYONNAISE OUT BEFORE USING SHAMPOO.

Happy, shiny hair to you!

[My sister also collected rain water outside in those days to wash her hair with, AND used lemon juice with her regular shampoo for extra blonde highlights.]
